Phil is an experienced psychologist with more than 25 years experience in counselling in various contexts. He is a registered psychologist with a Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology. He works from a client centred perspective and uses evidence based therapy modalities to assist his clients in living an optimal life.
He has training and experience in the treatment of mood- and anxiety disorders such as:
· Bipolar affective disorder
· Generalized anxiety disorder
· Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
· Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Phil has skills andexperience working with personality disorders such as:
· Borderline Personality Disorder
· Dissociative Identity Disorder
Phil has a keen interest in the mental health of older persons. He is doing assessment of memory functions and dementia. He gives guidance and support to individuals who are diagnosed with dementia and their families.
Other psychological issues in which he gives support and treatment are:
· Eating disorders
· Low self esteem
· Grief and bereavement
He is trained and experienced in family and relationship therapy.
As a keen sportsman himself he is interested in Sport Psychological interventions for individuals and teams. He also assists individuals and sports people in the psychological management of injury rehabilitation.
Fees: From January 1,2019 a fee of $150 is payable for a 50-55 minute Psychology session.
